Tokyo Police Club NEW MUSIC And The LAST TOUR Ever
By Corey Tate, Editor
This is the beginning of the end for the band Tokyo Police Club. They were one of the great indie bands of the 2000s, with jaunty music that was often described as sounding angular.
Angular is a word to describe music that jumps around a lot with quick, sharp bursts of high energy. You know, angular.
Tokyo Police Club are a post punk band that built a humongous and dedicated following through releasing a lot of music and doing a lot of shows.
Some of their music hints at the energy and raw emotion of post-punk, a genre that emerged in the late 70s/early 80s. This influence comes through in their more intense or driving songs.
The band announced their breakup earlier this year, but they're not going out without a bang. Here's a rundown: To mark the end of an era, the band has released two new songs, “Just a Scratch” and “Catch Me If You Can.”
