The Lollapalooza 2012 dates are Aug. 3 - 5, and here's the story for Lollapalooza 2012 - one show, for three days, with lots of after-show events happening around the city. About 70 bands will perform on five stages. The festival
grounds are located in Grant Park,
which is inside the downtown area of the
city.
The Lollapalooza schedule is also mobile-ready and social media aware, so you can use it on your iPhone or Android phone while you're at the show. You can also send it out to your people on Facebook and Twitter. Some interesting conflicts on the Lollapalooza schedule that you'll have decide on with overlapping set times: Black Sabbath vs. The Black Keys vs. Bassnectar for Friday night closing sets; Nero vs. M83 ... and the epic Sunday night decision -- Justice, Childish Gambino, Kaskade and Jack White. Do what you will.
Lollapalooza Aftershows include White Rabbits w/ Dum Dum Girls, The War on Drugs w/ Milo Greene, tUnE-yArDs w/ Washed Out, A NERO DJ Set w/ Die Antwoord, and The Walkmen going solo.
Lollapalooza was started by Perry Farrell 1991and went on until 1997, before taking a break until 2003. In 2003 Lollapalooza started up again before ending in 2004 under the weight of the cost of being a traveling festival. In 2005 Lollapalooza planted itself in Chicago where's it's stayed.
