The enterprising people at Pitchfork decided that after curating 2005's Intonation Festival and doing a SXSW showcase, that their next big move would be to create their own festival. Aptly naming it the Pitchfork Festival to avoid confusion over who owns the joint, they moved on to create a highly regarded festival.
This year's Pitchfork Festival live stream will be in full effect over the July 13 - 15 weekend, with a live stream webcast via YouTube on the Pitchfork channel. As always, Spacelab will run the live feed event on the site (if available) as well as videos from the crowd. Check out acts like Godspeed You! Black Emporer, Grimes, Dirty Projectors, Japandroids, AraabMuzik and more if you're at the festival in Chicago, and we'll find out who will be on webcast after they announce the Pitchfork Festival live stream schedule.
The Pitchfork Festival added new acts to the 2012 lineup with the addition of Sleigh Bells, Dirty Projectors, Flying Lotus, Danny Brown, Clams Casino, the Olivia Tremor Control, Iceage, Purity Ring, The Men, Schoolboy Q, and the Atlas Moth. There's still more to come with the announcement of 20 more acts on the way.
Last year, the Pitchfork Festival Twitter retweeted people's comments via their @pitchforkmedia Twitter feed, using the hashtag #P4KFEST.
