Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes and TV on the Radio all headlined the Pitchfork Music Festival. They retweeted Twitter updates from their @pitchforkmedia Twitter feed, and you can always use the hashtag #P4KFEST to blast your own Twitter musings, you little indie rock scribe, you.
The enterprising kids at Pitchfork decided that after curating 2005's Intonation Festival, and doing a SXSW showcase, that their next big move would be to create their own festival. Aptly naming it the Pitchfork Music Festival to avoid confusion over who owns the joint, they moved on to create a highly regarded festival.
The 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival will be at Chicago's Union Park July 15- 17. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 4. Prices range from $45 for single-day passes to $110 for three-day passes.
Tickets are no longer on sale.
