X (formerly Twitter) has introduced a new feature allowing iOS users to edit their direct messages (DMs).
This feature was rolled out in early September 2024, and it allows users to modify messages without any time restriction. Each message is limited to five edits.
To use it, simply long-press on the sent message or tap the three-dot menu to access the edit option. This feature is expected to expand to other platforms soon.
While edits are tracked for security purposes, there is no version history displayed to users.
This is a major catch up feature for X, they're doing it to keep pace with features that have already been available on other social media networks.
People are mostly excited about the new DM editing feature on X. They're saying it's a great addition, especially for fixing those annoying typos.
Some are surprised it took this long for X to add something that’s been standard on other apps for a while.
It’s like everyone’s just relieved they don’t have to deal with embarrassing mistakes in their messages anymore.
